The Computer Science/Technology Instructor & IT Specialist is a member of the Talcott Mountain Science Center & Academy teaching faculty, providing direct K-8 (with future opportunities to include secondary programming) instruction in the fields of robotics, coding, and all other aspects of computer science. As the IT specialist, this role oversees all aspects of the Organization's information technology infrastructure and operations, including providing support and troubleshooting for student and staff hardware and software, and coordinating with third-party technology services.

Talcott Mountain Science Center & Academy’s campus is located in Avon, CT with beautiful mountaintop views of the surrounding area. The annual salary for this role is $40,000-$45,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits, including medical and dental insurance, are available. The successful candidate will possess experience in both classroom/group instruction at the elementary and/or secondary level, as well as with IT management. Organized and attentive to details, the successful candidate will demonstrate firm commitment to the organization’s mission, enjoy working with advanced and curious learners, and strive for ongoing professional growth. The successful candidate must possess a valid driver’s license, have access to reliable transportation, and successfully complete a fingerprint-based background check.
