Job Description

In addition to teaching 12th-grade Theology, the ideal candidate will join the Head of School, the Chaplains, and the other Theology Instructors to serve as one of the stewards of programming to support the school’s Episcopal identity of being a caring, diverse community, inclusive of all faiths and grounded in the Christian tradition, which nurtures moral growth and values the potential and dignity of every human being.  

Duties include:

  • Teaching 3-4 sections of 12th-grade Theology;
  • Contributing to two other areas of school life, preferably in support of the work of the school chaplains.  Possible contributions could include presiding over worship services, providing pastoral care or participating in Christian education programming;
  • Serving as a student advisor, supervising students during lunchtime, study halls, recess periods (if applicable), afternoon activities, library, Chapel and assembly programs required of the students;
  • Serving as a chaperone at student events, participating in student retreats, community service days, and attending team meetings, as assigned;
  • Offering after-school and, sometimes, evening and weekend conferences and/or programming to accommodate our boarding school students’ schedules.

Qualified candidates should have theological training and experience teaching high school students. Ideal candidate will also have pastoral experience with youth. Qualified candidates should submit their resume and a letter of interest addressing their qualifications for this role.
