Registered Nurse - PCU
Job Details:
• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 13-week assignment duration
• Weekend requirement: May be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
• Work in a hospitalist unit/general medicine PCU with current 1:5 patient ratios (goal is 1:4)
• Float as needed to other PCU units and potentially Med Surg
• Care for adults and geriatrics on a 20-bed telemetry PCU
• Manage patients on Hospitalist service with Pulmonary and other medicine related illnesses
• Handle chest tubes, IV drips (Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, Low dose dopamine and dobutamine, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, Lasix)
• Work with trach patients, PICC lines, and oxygen modes including CPAP and BiPAP
• Unit can take 2 ventilated patients with 2 vent capable beds for chronic trach patients
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Epic experience required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Must work at least 1 holiday per 13-week assignment (2 holidays during winter season)
• 32 hours of orientation provided
• Remote telemetry monitoring with monitors remaining on units
