  As we continue to grow, we are seeking a high performance, self-motivated, experienced professional who is looking for an opportunity to help drive our business as a Staff Accountant. To be considered for this temp-to-hire position, candidates should have a deep understanding of accounting principles, AR/AP, taxation, budgeting, and process optimization. The successful candidate for this position will report directly to our Controller and will play an instrumental role in the financial future of the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

The Staff Accountant will report to the Assistant Controller and will be responsible for supporting financial audits, compliance with tax laws, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.  Financial forecasting and analysis experience will enhance contribution to the organization.  Specific responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of journal entries and monthly account reconciliations related to cash, accounts receivable and various other general ledger accounts
  • Assistance with monthly, quarterly and annual financial close
  • Assistance with cash reconciliation and management
  • Participation in annual audits and implementation of audit recommendations
  • Direct support to the Accounting general ledger team with the preparation of schedules related to month-end and year-end journal entries and analysis of operating results
  • Participation in Accounting team initiatives to implement systems, increase automation and enhance efficiencies
  • Maintenance of processes, procedures and internal controls
  • Daily reconciliation/payment processing of credit card customers
  • Maintenance and reconciliation of balance sheet and general ledger accounts
  • Other duties and ad hoc projects as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices.
  • Experience with financial analysis and forecasting is a plus.
  • Experience with Netsuite.
  • An analytical mind with a strategic ability.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and best practices
  • CPA or other relevant qualification is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and balance multiple responsibilities
  • Outstanding communication skills to include listening, verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proactive and driven to provide optimal results with high personal drive, integrity, and a positive attitude
