We are seeking a dedicated IT Project Manager to join our team to oversee and manage a variety of scientific projects, particularly in the realm of research and innovation funded by EU programs such as Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe.
The core focus of this role is to manage and oversee the project implementation by collaborating with internal teams (other project managers, domain experts, designers, developers etc) or external teams of well-known industry and academic partners across Europe.
The domain of the projects you will be working will include the design of innovative software applications that will contribute to the environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead IT Projects: Manage and implement software-focused projects funded by Horizon Europe, with a particular focus on developing IT solutions that address environmental sustainability.
Leadership and management of work packages and deliverables: Manage deliverables such as software designs, reports, and system integrations. Take charge of the technical work packages.
Collaborate with Cross-Functional teams: Coordinate with internal teams (scientists, software developers, UX/UI designers) and external collaborators (academic and industry partners) to ensure alignment on project requirements and goals.
Manage Software Development Lifecycle: Lead the planning, design, and development of innovative software applications, overseeing every phase from concept to deployment, ensuring they are optimized for the scientific and environmental challenges at hand.
Prepare Technical Reports & Documentation: Contribute to the preparation of detailed technical reports and deliverables, documenting software architecture, progress, and outcomes.
Proposal Writing: Contribute to the preparation of new Horizon Europe proposals, specifically focusing on the technical and IT aspects of the project.
Key Requirements:
Master’s or PhD degree in Information Technology, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience managing EU funding programs, particularly Horizon 2020 or Horizon Europe.
Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and experience applying them in real-world software development projects.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with environmental sustainability projects and a passion for leveraging IT to address global environmental challenges will be highly appreciated.
Proposal writing experience is a plus, especially with respect to Horizon Europe or similar research funding applications.
