Morven Museum and Garden in Princeton, NJ seeks an Education and Public Programs Intern to assist with program development and implementation for diverse audiences including children, adults, and families. The intern will report to the Curator of Education and Public Programs.
The Education and Public Programs Intern will assist in the research and development of new education programs at Morven. Duties include aiding in outreach to local educators and partner institutions, researching resources and benchmark projects, and the early generation of activities, programs, and resources for K-12 and family audiences. The intern will also support ongoing educational programs at the museum, duties including, but not limited to, attending events and coordinating speakers. The internship offers shadowing opportunities with different museum departments (Curatorial, Development, Visitor Services). The intern is expected to participate in the museum’s Fourth of July Festival (July 4, 2025), which is led by the Education and Public Programs department.
A qualified candidate will be organized and self-motivated. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively in both a remote and in-person work environment. Students interested in museum studies, education, public history, civics, historic preservation, political science, American studies, or related fields are encouraged to apply. There is no education level requirement for this position, but preference will be given to applicants with some experience in education and public history.
