The Opportunity

This role is on a hybrid schedule in our Charlotte or Detroit office only a few days weekly with some remote days.

As the Director of Leadership Development, you will lead the strategy, architecture, design, and implementation of leadership development initiatives across the Ally enterprise. Your work will equip leaders to succeed in the new world of work and foster an inclusive culture where people feel cared for and connected. You will partner with HR and business leaders to diagnose skill gaps and build scalable, sustainable solutions that meet evolving business needs. This role reports to the Sr. Director of Talent Management.

The Work Itself

  • Design, deliver, and evaluate scalable leadership development programs informed by assessment data and business needs.
  • Lead the selection, implementation, and administration of leadership assessments (e.g., 360-degree feedback, personality and behavioral assessments) to support talent identification and development.
  • Interpret assessment results and provide actionable feedback to leaders and managers.
  • Oversee executive coaching engagements, ensuring alignment with assessment outcomes and development goals.
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to embed leadership development and assessment practices into talent management processes.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on program outcomes and ROI.
  • Provide thought leadership and define enterprise leadership frameworks, creating strategies for implementation through operational areas.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of current leadership development frameworks, models, and industry best practices.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and consultants.
  • Lead multiple enterprise-wide initiatives, collaborating with key stakeholders across the company.

The Skills You Bring

  • 7+ years of directly related experience.
  • 5+ years required in leadership/management roles.
  • 2+ years experience with leading assessment strategy with various assessment tools required(e.g., 360-degree feedback, leadership simulations).
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field.
  • Proven experience in a leadership development role.
  • Knowledge of coaching methodologies and executive development best practices.
  • Performance consultation experience, both coaching employees and advising leaders.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong relationship management skills and credibility with senior leaders.
  • Demonstrates initiative, personal accountability, and integrity.

An individual's position in the range is determined by the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.
